I have no problem shooting it. It can do anything the other two can do without all the recoil. 41 Mag for me. All times are GMT-9. Doing a search of auctions there seem to be a lot more FA available, of course they have been making them longer (than the limited run of .48p and .454 Bisleys) and of course cost more.
I want to compare the .480 Ruger cartridge with the .454 Casull for power levels and felt recoil, specifically in Super RedHawk with 7.5" barrel.

The SAAMI maximum average pressure for the .480 Ruger is pegged at 48,000 psi, slightly below the 50,000 psi allowed for the .454 Casull.

A 41 mag will make a deer just as dead as the other two, make nice little holes in paper or tin cans as the other two, without the extra recoil.
No doubt the 41 is a great cartridge and one I hope to poke a few deer with someday.

This is America, so bigger is better, get the 480 Ruger.

But I do my paper punching with the .357, .41 mag is also a reasonable choice.Do you like the 44 mag or the 45 Colt better? The 41 fits in your current list of standard pistol magnums, but what does it add to the collection? 480 it is.Hey let me know how that works out for you!

My personal preference is the 454. The whole 480 being a pussycat originated in Ruger PR looking to push the round back 15 years ago.

I held off to research the .480 vs. .454 and to attempt to regain my sanity and now it seems it has been spoken for.
