Por esta serie decidí tomar una carrera en las ciencias naturales. The quality was horrible, and I've wanted to replace it with the "real thing" ever since.
I was apprehensive to spend so much on a 40-year-old series, but the risk paid off: this was clearly state-of-the-art in 1980, and because most of the contents focuses on history, very little is actually outdated as of today. The original Cosmos was one of the most influential television shows I've ever seen, and even now, with a great deal of it out of date, it is still awe inspiring. Carl Sagan's Cosmos - Ultimate Edition (Digitally Remastered)
IV Heaven and Hell 76. The video quality is no better than the pirated copy. Rec. This collection sparks the mind into contemplating the awesomeness of the universe!
I'm mystified by the people saying the "remastered" version is clear and crisp. I will not denigrate this television series as it is possibly one of the most seminal programmes ever to be produced.
They are however, Region Zero.

What I have watched thus far was absolutely beautiful, and very well worth the purchase price. Pale Blue Dot: A Vision of the Human Future in Space
Feel like I am back to school.
Indeed, the LP I once owned of the "Cosmos" soundtrack served me well as a starting point for purchasing complete recordings of the afore mentioned.
There is no excuse for this.
Carl Sagan’s Cosmos, in the DVD format, is a must addition to any video library.

Sagan was good at it. Along this line, "Cosmos" makes use of musical excerpts by the likes of classical composers such as Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Mahler, Holst, Rimsky-Korsakov, Stravinsky, Shostakovich and Alan Hovhaness.
I first bought the DVD from Ebay many years ago, and I ended up getting some kind of foreign copy (it wasn't advertised as such). Very few updates are required for this timeless endeavour.
I would absolutely recommend this DVD.
Cosmos is a 1980 popular science book by astronomer and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Carl Sagan. Cosmos and Carl Sagan, they go hand in hand. Astronomer Carl Sagan leads us on an engaging guided tour of the various elements and cosmological theories of the universe. Still the best documentary about space and the history of science The series, so well written by the late Dr Sagan his wife Ann Druyan and Steven Soter, stands as the standard to which similar documentaries must aspire. Its 13 illustrated chapters, corresponding to the 13 episodes of the Cosmos TV series, which the book was co-developed with and intended to complement, explore the mutual development of science and civilization.
Carl Sagan who was the man responsible behind the Voyager Missions ( that brought us back all these great pictures of our solar system ) and the SETI programme , presents a documentary that looks at the universe , evolution and our great philoshophical questions with humility and a simply beatiful scientific yet humane approach.
The observations, concepts and sentiments presented there in rang true when they were first put forth and many have become prophetic. There is little I can add to the plaudits awarded to the original series other than it still inspires me to this day. I understand that the show was made a long time ago, but I have DVDs of Gilligan's Island and Hogan's Heroes that are 20 years older and look better than this. Received this DVD collection two hours ago, and just watched the first disc.
There are many biographies played out by actors in their proper settings. Given the price of the set, and the popularity of the program, I find it hard to believe that this couldn't be substantially improved with some money and time, and that they are unwilling to invest in it. It is a real masterpiece.
Most episodes have an added-on 5-10 minute update epilogue from Sagan himself recorded around 1990.
16: 62. I have watched Cosmos over and over again.
After having seen Neil deGrasse Tyson's 2014 Cosmos, I got intrigued by his inspiration and grabbed Carl Sagan's 1980 original as soon as it dropped below C$70. We work hard to protect your security and privacy.
