Look for unique flavor combos.Stopped on a Sunday for some good coffee as we were traveling through Ames. The cold brew coffee here is amazing! And experience that is sometimes difficult to find in Ames. There is no upcharge for oat milk and they have house made syrup. The food is Subway...but it's the little things that make a difference. The long hallway was not the most inviting but at the end of the hallway was a bright light. I'm a cream-and-sugar person, but I liked this coffee without putting anything in it. Great coffee shop in downtown Ames.

It's minimal and modern inside. Morning Bell -- known to some as ~the bell~ -- is the best coffee shop in Ames. My only "complaint" is that I wish they had a little bit bigger space to hang out but the space they do have has a great clean, modern design. It may be small but it is mighty! Overall I wouldn't recommend Morning Bell for a sit down coffee shop for big groups or a date but I would 100% recommend their coffee. (For the record I love Cafe Diem and highly recommend them, too). Our coffee is moderately acceptable.
