We love Silver Beach Park. This beach is perfect. Come early if you want to find parking, as it fills up quite quickly. Open all four seasons, you can ride a different carousel figure or chariot every week and fill the year with a new memory each time.

We parked about three blocks and walked down so we saved the hassle of being in the middle of cars coming and going in all directions.This beach is the most known and most popular beach in the area.
They were also very busy changing trashcans, which isn't fun at all, but they did their job very well. Large picture window facing Lake Michigan so you can watch the sunset. Parking can be quite tedious but we found a way. Love this place and will be back! Kayaks and bicycles available for your convenience. I felt like I was trying to park for a Michigan home game. Mulch in the water but not enough that it was really bothersome. Take it to go and enjoy a picnic at sunset. I have never been to silver beach before this year and I'll probably never go to south haven again. The Upper Deck has seating for about 60 and has its own bar. The water wasn't to cold either. YUM!I'd love to be able to rate this beach and park, but I can't because after driving around and around for over an hour, on a Saturday, we were never even able to leave our car due to NO PARKING ANYWHERE! Beautiful sunset.I grew up in Florida so typically this is not something that I would call a beach, but I did enjoy myself here. Cancel free on most hotels. Parking is super convenient and close by which makes a day trip to the beach less stressful. We got there at 11 on a Tuesday and it was fine. Sand is clean. Great amenities from splash pad/fountains, carousel, swing sets, walking path, covered picnic tables and restrooms. The bathrooms were convenient but pretty gross.
Clean area.This was worth the 2 hour drive from Chicago. The beach and surrounding buildings are very well maintained. So much so that we are already planning to come back next summer and possibly stay a few days.
