So first there was the Heath Bar then a candy company called Hershey The Skor bar is on the top and has a distinctly darker toffee coloring than the Heath, though the Heath has a slightly milder flavor, the Skor definitely sports a bit nuttier and butterier flavor. I felt that Skor was the better of the two. Plus I LOVE skor bars.If you love Skor bars, then you’re sure to love this, Kristen! That is, if you want to produce consistent results. In the recipe I note that you can substitute Health bars for Skor bars, so you’re probably wondering what the difference is? Even if I create a recipe one week and post it the next, I cannot remember exactly how much of what ingredient I used.
I can’t tell you how many times someone has said to me, “oh it’s soo easy – just throw this together with that…”Right. It is this kind of recipe that food memories are made of. Thanks, Denise!
A Heath bar is made of "English Toffee" and a Skor is "Crisp Butter Toffee".
THE VERDICT: Although Mom and I like when there are Heath pieces mixed in with our ice cream, we both prefer the Skor.
What a great idea for a dessert, I can see this being devoured at Thanksgiving! Thanks, Matt. I’ll just file that away with the other 7 million ingredients and recipes I have floating around in my head.
Enjoy!Mmm skor bars are so good, and this looks so rich and delicious! This looks insanely good!!!!
This time, Mom got involved.
The Skor bar consists of a thin slab of butter toffee covered in a milk chocolate coating. Skor is a chocolate toffee bar produced by The Hershey Company. Well, Skor is a candy bar (or ‘chocolate bar’ as we prefer to call them in Canada) produced by The Hershey Company.
Many thanks for sharing your recipe.
However, in 1996, Hershey bought Leaf and produced the Heath bar under the Hershey name. The Skor bar consists of a thin slab of butter toffee covered in a milk chocolate coating, but is slightly thinner than the Heath bar. I knew it contained chocolate things, whipped cream and Skor bars, of course. Posts December 14, 2005 at 10:34 am #2195668. uncledaveyo.

So many delicious components Skor has always been one of my favourites! Skor bar vs. Heath Bar.
Beat to stiff peaks.Crush up 2 more score bars (using the same method as above) and sprinkle over whipped cream.
Just because something is easy, doesn’t mean you don’t need a recipe for it. This looks so decadent! And since I obviously couldn’t remember the ingredients from that long ago, I guessed. Always in something like a Blizzard. To me, Skor tastes more "buttery."
I can’t wait to make it!Made this for Thanksgiving instead of traditional pumpkin pie dessert. It will be fun to try it for our next potluck dinner. I absolutely need to take notes because there’s no way I’ll remember exactly how I made it.
Layered chocolate cake, pudding, cream cheese, broken Skor bars and whipped cream create a quick and easy dessert that's the perfect last minute dessert for bringing along to a potluck or any gathering. And although I was never a huge fan of Skor bars on their own, put them in a dessert with more chocolate and whipped cream and WOW!
I don't know why Hershey's feels the need to make both.
In fact, it’s one of the most delicious guesses I’ve ever created! Yes, too many ingredients and recipes in my head already – haha!Ooh, I am going to remember this one for next time I need to bring a dessert! A Heath bar is made of "English Toffee" and a Skor is "Crisp Butter Toffee". I found an answer, but not so sure I believe it myself.Still have questions?

Beat whipping cream to soft peaks and add white granulated sugar. Previously, I conducted my own Skor vs. Heath taste test in the parking lot of the Pick N Pay in Bristol, RI. "The only difference here is that Heath lists partially hydrogenated soybean oil (trans fat) as 4th on the list of ingredients, which I'm certain was not present in the original Heath recipe.
I had to keep scrupulous notes for our coaches – when they asked for the notes after the 20th time making something for a competition, I had to be on my toes with the updated recipes! I learned this in my competition days. It was a HUGE hit. I love it as an easy potluck dessert!Yes, I can relate about keeping good notes when developing or creating new recipes, Terri.
I’ve never heard of a Heath bar, but I love Skor bars, and this dessert is calling my name.
In any case. I hope you discover your appreciation for Skor bars, as I did!Terri, I’m with you. No spam!Break up chocolate cake and add to the bottom of a 9X13 pan. I wonder if this was included only after the Hershey takeover?
