Also, just south of My preference is GH over Holland. It's a very nice addition to the beach area. We sell Kawasaki ATVs, side-by-side UTVs and motorcycles; Jet Ski and WaveRunner watercraft; and Kymco scooters. Grand Haven, Holland, Saugatuck, South Haven and St. Joe are all similar.... if you really didn't like the first two you tried (SH and Holland) you're not likely to enjoy Grand Haven, Saugatuck or St. Joe any more than the first two you've seen. We both love doing outdoorsy stuff (hiking, biking, kayaking, etc...), but we also would like a place with good restaurants & maybe a little bit of night life. Artsy and quaint is Saugatuck, with a boardwalk by the boats, the ferry, and a very harsh walk to the Oval Beach. Holland is okay for a day, but your best bet for western MI is further north around Glen Arbor & the dunes, west/north of Traverse City. - People are 31.7% more likely to be married in South Haven. It's a very nice addition to the beach area. South Haven and the surrounding West Michigan area offer much more than typical tourism, but a vacation getaway experience you'll never forget.
