The Man in the High Castle is a startling depiction of an alternate history as imagined by author Philip K. Dick in his best-selling novel; a world in which Nazi Germany and Japan were victorious in World War II. Juliana soon has her own spiritual experience when she arrives in Cheyenne. On this map, Japan controls the entirety of the Pacific Ocean and most of the Asian continent, including China, India and half of Russia. The German Empire also controls all of the United States and Canada up to the Rockies in the west and South America including Brazil. Abendsen no longer worries about being assassinated for his writing, and after a great deal of prompting from Juliana, confesses that he used the I Ching to write the book. The Germans have colonized the eastern states and are assimilating its inhabitants into Nazi beliefs.
