I did come to like this book, but can't see myself reading it again AS usual, Tim Powers, gives us a different take on a well known theme. I didn't get on with this one. Quite the opposite: the basic plot of Powers' book was used for the movie, and while I haven't watched the film yet, I feel like giving it a shot to see how they compare. This was fantastically good fun. A slow-starter that took a very long time to get going, but had a satisfying ending.
