It was the most peaceful walk ever and lots of shade and on a hot day you will appreciate that. They can give you lots of great info!This is a decent size botanic garden. There are different garden themes like prehistoric and butterfly. Then proceed to the little gift shop if you want the free photocopy of the map.
Well worth the price.Such a beautiful, tranquil experience. Right in the heart of the Zilker Park, the gardens take you on a tour of a number of different settings and plant regions. There are a few areas that are pretty dense and have a lot of mosquitos. Very well kept with nice scenery and a peaceful walk. Make sure you bring bug spray. Despite being able to view the city from parts of the park though, don't worry about not being able to find a peaceful spot without the view of the skyline, there are places that are quiet.My daughter and I came here for the first time today and we loved it. It was $8, pretty affordable. Awesome Botanical Garden to stop at if you're in Austin, I definitely recommend. Zilker Botanical Garden is nestled within Zilker Metropolitan Park in the heart of downtown Austin. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to experience the stillness of Mother Nature at this garden!Beautiful scenery for the low cost of only $2 (Austin Residents) and $3 for non-residents. My daughter loved the waterfalls and the koi fish. One of the ladies suggested a specific route with the kids and that was very helpful. was really enjoyable, then it got better as I ventured into the other areas.I'm sure someone without a kid could have seen everything; pioneer village, dinosaur garden, and we both garden, so this botanical garden was a dream for us.The Zilker Botanical Garden is ideally located in the center of Texas' capital city. I believe it's free to walk in but there's a fee if you enter and park with a vehicle. It's on the smaller side as far as acreage goes (in comparison to the St. Louis Botanical Gardens) so it's easy to get from one garden to another. The koi ponds are pretty well stocked. Along with seeing the butterflies in the butterfly garden. It was so peaceful and serene. Wander from the blacksmith’s shop to the coy pond, past the bamboo to the rose garden.
