Crime in Yakima concerns me as a citizen, hearing about multiple shootings and murders in a town that takes at most 25 minutes just to get across is concerning. If you wish to visit a big city for a weekend getaway, it is a short 2.5 hour drive to downtown Seattle or a three hour drive to Spokane. On the plus side, Fred Meyer is a nice store with friendly people and I'm grateful for that. It is a small city that feels more like a small town.
