In 30 years or so, they won't sound youthful anymore, they'll be "mom" or "aunt" names like the Linda/Brenda/Nancy/Tammy/Cheryl/Donna of today.

It just looks more like a real name to me, while Kaylee seems a bit... overly phonetic? If anything it strikes me as a more classic spelling since older names like Natalie and Melanie end the same way.

upside to this is that it does have a bit more history/tradition: http://www.babynamewizard.com/baby-name/girl/kaliAnd it would be pretty awesome to have a goddess namesake. I also think that the increased occurrence of that spelling takes away any pretension that might have existed in the past. This isn't a case of you taking a well-established name and changing it for a "fancier" ending, like, say, Rosaleigh, Molleigh, or Nataleigh. Kayley. Where to start? Throw in Kaylee, Kaylie, Kayley, Kayleigh, etc., and anyone who has this name is going to have to spell it out frequently. Kaylee. Regarding the two original spelling choices, I do agree that the -leigh spelling looks rather overwrought and trying-too-hard... but then, I just might prefer it to the -lee. I don't really have a preference for either spelling and both are common enough.

My name is Kaylee. my first choice name for kalen was kamia but kalen does suit her and i love it now. Thanks!

Kaylie. 1 decade ago. 17 Answers . So I would definitely spell it Kaylee.

What are the different ways to spell Kaylee? Kayli. Ginny.

Caleigh. But if they're just looking up my name on a sheet, I don't have to. I have not been traumitzed by my weirdly spelled name. My concern is that she's going to spend her life correcting people trying to spell it with an -lee, and after saddling our older daughter with a name that will require constant correction, I feel bad doing the same to her sister. i love her name but regret the spelling. Kaylee and Kaylie are the best IMO ♥ 0 1 0. Kayley. Caily. I agree with the above comments thatHmm. Not to make light of your problem, but I'd be  tempted to just draw one out of a hat & go with it. Kaley.
