With clay you want it to get deep into the pores, for impurities to be drawn out; clay also absorbs extra oil, without oil the mask … Toner (depends on type) can leave a layer of ingredients, remove excess oil. I then use all of my favorite serums and moisturize. It’s best done at night. I turn on a show or something and I keep the mask on until it feels more dry than not. I only use sheet masks when I know I'm going to get a good few hours of sleep, which is pretty rare cause I usually get about 2 hours of sleep and I feel like I'm wasting the product if I don't give it time to sink in lol. I'm relatively new at this as well but based on blogs, you apply it after the toner.I actually put my essence on first, because the Benton Snail Bee High Content essence is such a light texture that it's thinner than typical sheet mask essences.
I will use a clay mask a couple times a month, but I never skip acids on the days I use them.

:)I always tone afterwards to make sure the mask is completely off and my skin is nice and clean. Just be careful of using anything else with irritants.
